Match name: International Defensive Pistol Association, hosted by Indiana Defensive Pistol Shooters.

Schedule: First Saturday of every month. Setup begins at 7:00 AM, Shooter’s meeting for new shooters will start at 9:30 AM The match will start at 10:00 AM.

Cost: 6 stages of fire, $15.00.

Firearms used: For the regular match, 9mm to .45 acp. Single action, double action and safe action self defense pistols are welcome. Revolvers are also welcome. No competition weapons.

Usual number of rounds needed: Always bring 200 rounds to be on the safe side.

Other equipment needed (in addition to eye and ear protection): Carry type holsters and two mag pouches. No competition gear. Bring a concealment garment.

Targets: Standard IDPA targets, eight inch steel plates, pepper poppers.

Format: Standard IDPA rules. Time and accuracy affect the shooter’s final score. For more information go to the IDPA web site at www.idpa.com. Four divisions are recognized, depending on firearm. These include Stock Service Pistol, Custom Defense Pistol, Enhanced Service Pistol, and Stock Service Revolver. Shooters are classified by skill level, with classifications including Master, Expert, Sharpshooter, and Marksman and Novice.

Prizes: Bragging rights for the month. You will receive a newsletter within one week of the match with the match results.
