How to Pre-Register Beginning March 1st, 2023

If you can’t Pre-register through email, call Charlie Hallam at (812) 424-2358 with appropriate information.

    Body: let us know the names, ages, birth date, phone number and address of all planned participants (ages 9-18)

Bring the following 4 documents to the range…

CMP Affidavit

CMP Parental Consent

Youths under the age of 18 must have the consent of both parents (or a custodial parent/guardian) to participate. Please print and complete two copies of each of the documents above, and bring them to the range.


Red Brush will Provide:

1. Instructors for each event

2. Archery, shotguns, 22 cal. rifles, 22 cal. pistols, air-rifles and appropriate ammunition

3. A representative from the DNR

4. Lunch

5. Eye and ear protection

6. Parking, shelter, and restrooms

7. Attendance Prizes to be announced


Purpose of the day:

1. To promote safety awareness concerning firearms

2. To provide a safe hands-on learning environment under the supervision of experienced shooters and Instructors.

3. Promote shooting sports as family activities


Schedule of Events

6:00 AM – 7:00 AM ……..Volunteer Sign-in

7:00AM-8:00AM……….Check-in for pre-registered youth

8:00AM-8:30AM……….Registration or Pre-registered at www.redbush.org (walk-ins may be limited)

8:30AM-9:00AM……….Intro to Range, Pledge of Allegiance, Opening Prayer

9:00AM-12:00PM.…..….Shooting activities with Instructors

12:00PM-1:00PM.…..….Lunch

Times are approximate


We will be using four separate bays for the days events

Bay 1 will have the 22 cal. Pistol event

Bays 2 & 3 will have the Shotgun event

Bay 4 will have Air Rifle

300 yd. Range will have the 22 cal. Rifle event

Lakeside will have the Archery event


Who is invited:

Anyone between the ages of 9-18 yrs.

Pre-registration is not required, but would be very appreciated.

Activities at Bay 1 (Pistol) will involve:

1. An Instructor will be speaking to the entire group about gun safety and Range rules.

2. There will be 12 youths at the firing line at a time along with 12 adults.

3. Each youth will get to shoot 5 rounds at 3 paper targets. (total 15 rounds)


Activities at Bays 2 & 3 (Shotguns) will involve:

1. An Instructor will be speaking to the entire group about gun safety and Range rules.

2. There will be 6 youths at a time at the firing line in each bay, along with 4 adults.

3. Each youth will get 5 attempts to shoot at a thrown clay target or static targets.


Activities at Bay 4 (Air Rifle) will involve:

1. An Instructor will be speaking to the entire group about gun safety and Range rules.

2. There will be 6 youths at the firing line at a time along with 6 adults.

3. Each youth will get to shoot 5 rounds at 3 paper targets. (total 15 rounds)


Activities at Lakeside (Archery) will involve:

1. An Instructor will be speaking to the entire group about gun safety and Range rules

2. There will be 6 youths at the firing line at a time along with 8 adults.

3. Each youth will get to shoot 5 rounds at 3 paper targets. (total 15 rounds)


Activities at the 300 yd range (.22 Rifles) will involve:

1. An Instructor will be speaking to the entire group about gun safety and Range rules.

2. There will be 12 youths at the firing line at a time along with 12 adults.

3. Each youth will get to shoot 5 rounds at 3 paper targets. (total 15 rounds)

This is not a competition. This is an opportunity for young people to learn gun safety, and to experience the fun that the shooting sports can bring.
