Match name: Red Brush Metal Madness (This match is open to the public.)
Schedule: 4nd Saturday of the month Weather permitting.
Setup starts at 8:00am, Check-In 9:00-9:45am, Safety meeting at 9:45am.
Match starts at 10:00am.
Cost: $10 for adults first pass, $5 each addition pass (can shoot same gun more than once), maximum 4 runs.
$5 flat fee for Minors up to four passes
All match registration will be done online at www.mmssa.net
You DO NOT have to be a member of MMSSA or Red Brush Rifle Range to participate (non-MMSSA members will not be able to see total time)
Final check-in and payment will be done at Red Brush Rifle Range on match day, walk-ons are welcome (Cash Only)
Firearms used: .22LR Pistols and Rifles
Usual number of rounds needed: At least 50 rounds per pass (5 rounds per lane X 10 lanes), if you never miss. [You will miss so bring extra ammo!]
Eye and ear protection is required for everyone, including spectators!
Every rimfire pistol and rifle will be required to have the bolt closed on a chamber flag, and be bagged / cased between runs.
Format: Metal Madness players shoot in a lane consisting of 4 numbered square plates and 1 round STOP plate that must be shot in numerical order. Players will shoot once in each of the 10 lanes per run. Scoring is time based, plus penalties for missed plates or shooting plates out of sequence. With misses costing 3 seconds each, hitting plates in the proper order is extremely important. The eight fastest times from ten lanes fired are added together for each shooter’s bracket time. To put up a top score in Metal Madness, you must have seriously good speed and accuracy skills. With more than 60,000 different combinations, it’s impossible to completely master the game.
Weather Requirement: Weather requirements – If it is forecasted below 40 degrees “feel like” temp on the Weather channel app, then the match will be cancelled along with any other severe weather events. Any cancelations will be posted on the Facebook page the 24 hours before event.
